IGP:FLIP, the Infogrid Pacific multi-format XML production environment has gone through a massive feature update. Some of these have been against the impending release of IGP:Document Designer, the new interactive book/template design toolkit.
- Template Manager: Allows the direct manipulation of presentation templates (CSS) from the interface. It includes categorization, mapping and copying, making it easy to instantly define a new template.
- Font Manager: Upload and map fonts directly to book and document structures to create new and distinctive designs.
- Media Manager: Upload and organize images by book. Images upload into a Gallery context and instantly generate all format images required including multiple e-book covers, print and online images. Images can be previewed, copied and resized from the interface.
- Page Extent Calculator: Uses XML elements and CSS properties to accurately count the number of pages for a specific design and font combination.
- Header and Folio Patterns: This has been enlarged to include front matter, body and back matter patterns and can be easily.
- Extended Output Formats: Generated formats now includes Mobipocket with and/or without DRM, *.doc, *.otf and text export, generate sample chapter e-pub and more.
Major feature updates include:
- Always on editing
- New paragraph tracking and control with paragraph PDF preview
- Composition PDF with paragraph numbering to allow correlation between the editing/composition window and the generated PDF
- File import has been extended to include XHTML, HTML, and basic DocBook
- Delete All pages, to allow a manuscript reimport without creating a copy or redoing design features.
- Hard line break stripping after importing from PDF or OCR structures.
- Extended customizable metadata editor to allow direct publishing to IGP:Subscription Fulfillment Services
The template structures have been updated and extended to handle a wider range of content genres easily and interactively.
